New item out early June, watch this space.

A couple of meetings coming up in London with some inspirational people, I can't wait to talk with more like minded people determined to make positive changes to peoples lives. Early June there will be a new product for sale on this page to do with care.

Such wonderful like minded people after a horrible Panorama.

A charity called The Edithellen foundation came down to see me from Norfolk this week. Both of the wonderful people running the charity have each been through their own tragic journeys of failures from the care systems. Watching panorama was tragic to see but often not seen by the people who need to see. Also people afraid to speak out is another problem, things really need to change. Inspectors only see this snapshot and most of this looks good but is only happening for their benefit, once they leave behind those closed doors will often return to poor practices. The idea of cameras is all well and good but how will this be possible in 70 bed homes because most abuse and neglect happens in bedrooms not communal areas? Good care starts at the top and this means Managers and Regional Managers listening to staff and having their fingers on the pulse. If only those holding the purse strings would do a long shift once in a while to see how limited your time is trying to meet residents needs, also the affects this has on them.

new faith in head of CQC

After meeting Andrea Sutcliffe the new chief of CQC at the event on the 17th I have new faith in the system to come. Not only has she said that she will be getting my book, also however suggested that my experiences may be valuable to her as she genuinely wants to make things better with the care system. Obviously I said it would be lovely to help if I can, anything that will make a positive difference to the care people receive.

A big thank you

Thank you for such positive feedback of my book.

It has been great to have so much positive media attention and book reviews from so many people. Being number one on Amazon in community means a lot to me, not only because many people have purchased my book but because I hope it will change the way care is provided for our loved ones for the better.

Foreword being added to my book

A close trusted friend of mine, Wendy McCleave, step daughter of Sir Douglas Bader has written a foreword for my book. This means the book will be available end of January but her own experiences of care are very important to the hopes of my book and reasons for writing it.
